Euclidean AUv3 Sequencer: A Powerful MIDI Sequencer for iPhone
Euclidean AUv3 Sequencer is a powerful MIDI sequencer developed by Limelight Software for iPhone. It is an alternative incarnation of the classic step sequencer and has gained popularity in the modular realm.
Based on Euclidean rhythms developed by computer scientist Godfried Toussaint, this sequencer allows you to auto-generate complex musical sequences without any prior knowledge of how it works. It utilizes Euclid's algorithm to evenly distribute hits in a sequence across set timing divisions.
Loaded as an AUv3 plugin, Euclidean Sequencer can be used in any host application that supports flexible MIDI routing. It allows you to define up to 4 Euclidean rhythm parts, referred to as bands, and create up to 16 separate patterns per song patch.
Each band can have its own note sequence and output MIDI channel, allowing for the creation of sophisticated rhythm patterns that can drive 4 separate instruments simultaneously. Seamless pattern transitions and the ability to switch patterns on the fly enable the creation of evolving sequences.
Euclidean AUv3 Sequencer also supports MIDI input, which automatically adjusts note sequences to match the currently playing chords. Additionally, it offers features such as output port and channel control, per band and global speeds, randomize function, note probability, reverse and pingpong modes, MIDI chord recognition, latch mode, 4 band velocity mixer, controller support, gate mode, and AUv3 compatibility.
Please note that this is an AUv3 plugin intended for use within your favorite host DAW, such as AUM, Cubasis, or Loopy Pro. It is compatible with any app that supports flexible MIDI routing.
